Lead Guide Toddler Sky Room
Joined Montessori Children’s Center August 2025.
Ms. Sharon has always loved being with children. Before coming to MCC, she worked in admissions at the Heschel School in New York City, interacting with parents and students alike. Then she pivoted from admissions /marketing to teaching. She worked for a year as a toddler assistant teacher in a traditional childcare program in Westchester. Due to her interest in Montessori education, she joined MCC. She first worked as an assistant in EC Mountain for a year, then returned to her beloved toddler age group, working alongside Ms. Andrea in Toddler Sand.
She is currently enrolled in the Montessori Infant and Toddler training for her Montessori credential (GCMS). This program comprises 250 hours of Montessori theory, pedagogy, practice, observation, child development, and environmental design. She is completing her practicum here at MCC as the lead toddler guide in the Sky Room. Ms. Sharon has her master’s degree (MIT) and BA (Wharton School/U Penn).
In every role, she brings warmth, patience, and joy to her interactions with children and adults. Kind, joyful, patient, and knowledgeable, Ms. Sharon is a true Montessorian: supporting children daily toward independence, developing concentration, fostering a sense of agency, and building meaningful connections with children and adults in their community.
- Credential Status: Currently pursuing training for a Montessori Infant and Toddler Credential, completing her practicum at the Montessori Children’s Center.
- Education: Master’s degree (MIT), BA (Wharton School, UPenn)
- Training: Foundations in Health and Safety, Identifying and Responding to Anaphylaxis, Prevention of Brain Injuries, Supervision of Children.
- Ms. Sharon is Red Cross CPR and Pediatric First Aid certified.
- Membership: Member of the American Montessori Society.
- Personal: Mother of 2 adult children, one of whom is also a teacher!
