Joined MCC in 2020.

After graduating from Sarah Lawrence College, Ms. Helena started as an assistant in the Infant Cove room. When the opportunity arose to pursue Montessori training for a credential, she was drawn to enroll in the training (CGMS) and became head teacher in the Early Childhood Meadow Room.

Ms. Helena has a deep affinity and appreciation for Montessori philosophy and practice, which she expresses both professionally and personally. She is the mother of a son and twin daughters, all of whom attend MCC.

A beloved member of our community, she coaches, inspires, and mentors interns and assistants alike. Ms. Helena shares her love of music by infusing our Early Childhood curriculum with song and music, helping our EC children develop their musical aptitude, rhythm, and vocal skills over the two to three years they are enrolled in the MCC Early Childhood program. She leads both Meadow and Mountain EC children as they prepare and perform seasonal presentations throughout the year, culminating in the children sharing their confidence, joy, and delight as they sing together during the annual EC graduation song presentation.

• Education: B.A. (Sarah Lawrence) with a concentration in music and psychology. Completed research on trauma-informed expressive art therapy and music’s role in language development.
• Credential: Montessori Early Childhood Credential (CGMS).
• Training: 5-hour Foundations of Health and Safety training (SUNY Albany), “In Focus 13-hour Infant and Toddler Symposium” (AMS, Fall 2020). March 2021 and March 2023 AMS Conferences, plus March 2025 and March 2026 AMS Learning professional development.
• Membership: Member of the American Montessori Society.
• Personal: Mother of a son and twin daughters, all who attend MCC.
