Joined Montessori Children’s Center in 2008.

Our senior head teacher, Ms. Andrea has worked with toddlers at MCC for over 18 years. She has been a leader and beloved member of our MCC team since our early days at the Montessori Children’s Center at Burke. Ms. Andrea has a deep understanding of Montessori philosophy, pedagogy, and practice, especially in the toddler stage of development. She has mentored and coached many MCC interns and assistants some of whom who went on to become head Montessori teachers.

Ms. Andrea has helped guide and support toddlers and their families through their Montessori journey at MCC. In addition to her years of experience, Ms. Andrea’s innate warmth, gentle demeanor, and patience truly define her environment. Her deep kindness creates a peaceful, nurturing space where toddlers feel safe to explore, make mistakes, and grow at their own pace. She treats every child with profound respect, bringing the heart of the Montessori philosophy to life each day.

Rooted in routines that bring children a sense of security, Ms. Andrea brings calm, patience, and joy to the daily lives of the toddlers in her care while giving them “just enough help” to feel they can do things for themselves!

• Credential: American Montessori Society Infant and Toddler Credential (CMTE/NY).
• Education: BA (Catholic University Manizales, Colombia).
• Certifications: NYOCFS-approved, MAT-certified, and Red Cross-certified Child-Infant CPR and Pediatric First Aid.
• Training: 5-hour Foundations of Health and Safety training (SUNY Albany); “In Focus 13-hour Infant and Toddler Symposium” (AMS, Fall 2020). March 2021 and March 2023 AMS Conferences, plus March 2025 and March 2026 AMS Learning professional development.
• Membership: Member of the American Montessori Society.
